Frequently Asked
Questions.

Everything you need to know about Project David — for students, parents, and schools.

For Students

How much do I invest to be trained?

Public School Students: We are pleased to offer an 80% scholarship for students from public schools, meaning only ₱2,000 will be required from the scholar.

Private School Students: For students attending private schools, we provide a 50% scholarship, resulting in a charge of only ₱5,000 to the scholar.

How long is the training?

The DAVID Course is a 10-week course.

What happens after I complete the 10-week class?

Completing the 10-week course, you'll be ready to take the Certification exam. Once you pass, you may proceed to your practicum.

How is the Practicum structured, and who will I be working with?

The Practicum is done with your peers. We shall discuss how this goes one month prior to the practicum period.

Who is eligible to join Project DAVID?

Students enrolled in grades 10 to 4th year college level from any course are eligible. Candidates should demonstrate a genuine interest in mental health advocacy, strong communication skills, and leadership potential.

For Parents

Is this a professional therapy or counseling program?

No. Project DAVID trains students as peer coaches, not therapists. Coaches learn to listen, support, and recognize when to refer peers to professional help. This complements existing counseling services.

How safe is the program for my child?

The program is designed with safeguarding in mind. Trained facilitators supervise all sessions, and coaches are taught to recognize when professional intervention is needed.

Will this affect my child's academic performance?

Classes are scheduled on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings to minimize academic disruption. Many parents report that the skills learned actually improve their child’s focus and leadership.

For Schools

What does the school need to provide?

Schools need to designate a program lead (teacher or counselor), nominate eligible students, commit to supporting the 10-week program, and provide space for peer support activities post-training.

How does this fit into our existing programs?

Project DAVID is designed to complement existing counseling and guidance services. It creates a student-led support layer that extends the reach of your existing mental health infrastructure.
